Welcome to St. Peter's Church, Chantilly

St. Peter's started well over 100 years ago to serve the English community which came here connected with horse racing.

Today the community of St. Peters includes people from five different continents and draws worshippers from a large area to the north of Paris. We enjoy the rich experience of coming together from different parts of the world and discovering our unity in Christ. We are part of the Church of England Diocese in Europe and we work in partnership with ICS, a mission/patronage agency which resources English-speaking churches abroad.

Whoever you are, whether you have come to live in this area north of Paris or are just visiting, you are very welcome. St. Peter's hosts a wide range of activity in its Church Centre; a Parent and Toddler group, a Keep Fit class, a group for over 60s, an Alpha Course from time to time and a coffee morning as well as an expanding range of youth activities. Throughout, our desire is to help people of all ages discover the wonderful love of God, to help Christians grow in an understanding of their faith and to serve Jesus Christ in every area of their lives.

We would love to hear from you! Click on Contact Us to see how to get in touch; you can send an e-mail , pick up the phone, or even drop into the office if you would prefer to meet someone face to face.

Prayer

A Great Wave of Prayer

Posted by: MORELLE on Wednesday May 16, 2018
In May 2016 the Archbishops of Canterbury and York called for 'a great wave of prayer' in the week leading up to Pentecost, under the banner ‘Thy Kingdom Come’. The vision was renewal and empowering of the Church and Christian witness, and that through prayer Jesus would be made known to thousands of people.
"Without prayer, the Christian life and witness is barren.
With prayer the life of Jesus overflows from us to others."
So - why stop at Pentecost? We think that the simple pattern of prayer overleaf, using the Lord’s Prayer daily, is a great way to continue to build a wave of life-changing prayer.

“It is impossible to overstate the life-transforming power of the Lord’s Prayer. When we pray it with sincerity and with joy, there is no imagining the new ways in which God can use us to his glory.”

The Right Reverend Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury.    more ...

Dear friends, Cher(e)s ami(e)s,
Welcome to this week's edition of St Peter's Chantilly bulletin.

This morning I saw something I have never seen before.

A group of six hares playing, chasing and leaping together in a field…. Made my day.

(There are at least eight different collective nouns for hares – I think today it was a leap of hares!)    more ...
